Here you can see my pixel tutorial, and i hope this will help you.

Okay here is picture what i made for this Forum lesson.

Now i'm going to show u and talk about that how i made it.

Grass:
1) Choose darkest colour. 2) Add lighter ones. 3) Add blendings.

Sky:
1) Choose an colour for sky. 2) Add lighter and darker ones. 3) Add blendings.

Trees:
1) Choose darkest colour for greenery and for stem. 2) Add lighter ones. 3) Add blendings.

Coins, phats:
1) Take usual yellow colour for coins. 2) Add coins conture with darker yellow. 3) Choose colours for phats. 4) Add darker and lighter colors. 5) Add blendings.

Detiles and belndigs:

Add shadows for items, and make them on one side for all things like light comes from the other side.
make little blending between (sky and trees) and (sky and grass), use different lighter greenish blue colors.

Now it looks much better.
